Facial Trauma Surgery

The repair and treatment of complex injuries of the facial skeleton and soft tissues.

Often the only certainties in life are seemingly the uncertainties.

Injuries to the maxillofacial skeleton happen through a variety of circumstances including motor vehicle accidents, falls, sports injuries, interpersonal conflict, or high-velocity accidents. These distinct injuries can require complex management by surgeons who span a breadth between head & neck trauma surgery and reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Kain received extensive training and comfort in the management of craniomaxillofacial bony and soft tissue injuries throughout residency, fellowship, and advanced-practice courses. This includes the use of virtual-surgical planning and innovative technologies to restore optimal form and function after facial injuries. This can even include revisions of prior injuries through microvascular tissue transfer or custom implants to improve longstanding defects.

Injuries treated include those of the scalp, forehead, face, nose, ear, lips, mouth, throat, mandible, maxilla, zygoma, skull base, and neck.
